The Best Beach Spots!

When you live in a beautiful spot such as Bermuda, you often forget to truly appreciate it until you have visitors! This past Sunday I took my daughter, Grace, on her first walk on the beach with her visiting Grandparents. As kids, my sister and I always went to Warwick Long Bay, as Horseshoe Bay always seemed to be crowded with the cruise ship tourists. It does not get groomed like Horseshoe does, the current is a bit stronger, and there are no lounge chairs – but its beautiful sand and pink coral make it one of the prettiest spots in Bermuda, in my opinion.

Walking distance from Warwick Long Bay is Jobson Cove. It is perfect for babies playing at the beach for the first time, and surrounding rocks provide a calm, cool spot for swimming. The small beaches between Warwick Long Bay and Horseshoe Bay make a great path to walk or run and are perfect to picnic with friends or family to truly relax! Reefs guests can even borrow a cooler from the hotel! We are heading back later this week for an early evening picnic on the beach - another first for Grace - as the weather looks to be beautiful and the water sparkling!

Feel free to share your favorite beaches near The Reefs so others can share in the experience!

The Music Festival

As a local on the island I am a little ashamed to say I have never been to the Bermuda Music Festival. But I look forward to this year’s festival on October 3 – 6, 2007. My sister and I are getting babysitters (see post below) and dusting off the dancing shoes! This year’s performances include The O’Jays, Lionel Ritchie, Smokey Robinson, and Earth Wind & Fire, all hosted by comedian Steve Harvey! For more information or to purchase tickets online go to Bermuda Tourism.

So come and join me at the Bermuda Music Festival – I’ll see you there!
